A vibrant and often hilarious musical reimagining of the Purim story, with one foot in ancient Persia and one foot in pre-war Europe where a new Haman was plotting the destruction of Jews. This spirited adaptation weaves ancient legend with modern Jewish life, celebrating survival, tradition, and resilience. This production originated in the 1960s Israel with a musical score written by Israel Prize Winner Dov Seltzer and was a hit all around the world, landing on Broadway in 1968.
