Lincoln Center Theater again joins forces with Scott Rudin to bring a great American classic back to Broadway in a stunning new production. THE GLASS MENAGERIE is the play that brought the brilliant Tennessee Williams to national attention, and, in his own words, “changed my life irrevocably” when it first premiered on Broadway in 1945. More than seventy years later, Williams’ most personal work still resonates. This new production stars two-time Academy Award® winner Sally Field as Amanda Wingfield and two-time Tony Award® winner Joe Mantello as Tom Wingfield. Finn Wittrock (“Happy Loman” in Mike Nichols’ 2012 Death of a Salesman) portrays the Gentleman Caller and Madison Ferris, in her Broadway debut, is Laura Wingfield. The play is directed by Sam Gold, who won the Tony for Fun Home and, for LCT, directed The Mystery of Love and Sex in the Newhouse as well as LCT3’s The Coward. He first directed THE GLASS MENAGERIE at Toneelgroep Amsterdam, and the Broadway production features that entire design team.
