Peribáñez and the Commander of Ocaña

Teatro Círculo presents Peribáñez y el Comendador de Ocaña (Peribáñez and the Commander of Ocaña), a Spanish Golden Age Classic and one of the most celebrated works of Lope de Vega, the “Fénix de los ingenios”, the legendary playwright who transformed the course of world theater. This timeless tragicomedy explores what happens when the desires of the powerful collide with the dignity of ordinary people. Directed by Daniel Alonso de Santos, with verse direction by Karmele Aranburu, and presented in a version by José Luis Alonso de Santos, this production brings Lope’s masterpiece vividly to life for contemporary audiences.
