Myths and Hymns

Jan 15 - 17, 2027

a myth tells a story in which human limits can be crossed a hymn addresses a power that might cross those limits for us This production follows a group of finite people, each with an infinite appetite, gathering to search for a way beyond the limits of the human condition. Across Adam Guettel's score, myth and hymn become two different ways of confronting the unknowable. The songs ask whether the distances between people, bodies, faith, work, death, and uncertainty can ever truly be overcome, and what it means to keep living when no answer arrives.
