A night like any other. Mother and Father are asleep. Just what is in that room beyond the laboratory? And just why do Mother and Father have a laboratory anyway? Like a siren song, the child’s curiosity draws them toward the forbidden door and a life-altering discovery. With clues gathered from their parents notes, the child embarks on a rock music quest to find connection with others of their kind. Monsters. A Frankenstein’s monster of a show, Monstersongs stitches together the body with Rob Rokicki's (The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical) rock album score and David O'Neill's graphic novel illustrations then slaps in Forgotten Lore’s immersive stylings for a brain. Add the electricity of an audience and IT’S ALIVE! Though a seated performance, the immersive nature of the show will invite audience members to leave their seats and become a part of the show. Through interaction, exploration, song, and dance, audiences are plunged into the dark corners of human imagination to confront the stuff of nightmares and the monsters lurking within us all. Monstersongs is a playful and poignant theatrical experience where theater-goers may unearth, interact with, or even become monsters. Audience interaction and participation are a part of the performance.
