Midnight Runner

An animal lover finds his home overrun by hundreds of roaches and refuses to kill a single one. MIDNIGHT RUNNER is a horror-comedy solo show about the strange moral distinctions we make between ourselves and other animals, traveling from a squalid apartment in El Paso to the murky swamps of the 35-million-year reign of the Abnormal Shrimp—and asking why we’ll stomp a bug but would never beat a possum to death with a toilet plunger. Ryan Dowler is an alum of the OBIE and Drama Desk Award-winning writer’s collective, Youngblood at Ensemble Studio Theater. He is the author of the plays STIFF, The Gratifications, Mammals, Something Like Loneliness, and The Flamingos.
