A birthday. A new baby. A family reunion. A global pandemic. In Masha Masha Masha!, a prominent Black family finds itself quarantined at its sprawling estate in Rochester, New York, where an occasion for celebration quickly becomes an unraveling of everything left unsaid. As marriages fracture, old loves resurface, and long-buried ambitions come roaring back to life, three sisters and the people orbiting them confront the distance between the lives they imagined and the lives they've actually built. Inspired by Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters, playwright Edward Mawere delivers a contemporary, wickedly funny, and deeply human exploration of family, desire, ambition, inheritance, and the audacity of wanting something more.
