La Ventana de los Chévere

“The Chevere’s Window” is a tragic dramatic comedy in Spanish addressing the fortunes of a Hispanic nuclear family, “los Chevere”, in the aftermath of 9/11 and lasting until 2008, when the housing bubble burst the stock market. The family saga highlights collective trauma (9/11), military service (Iraq), interpersonal family relations and the vibe in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen at the time. The play aspires to bring a Spanish speaking theater public as well as those willing to read the supertitles so that they may relive, dwell on and learn about Hispanic/Latino/Latinx family dynamics during 9/11 on its 25th anniversary.
