Influenced is a theatrical mixtape about visibility, grief, identity, and the chaos of being Black and online in a world that prefers you be filtered or forgotten. At its core, this is the story of Jackie Johnson—a Black woman raised on Brandy lyrics, raised by the internet, and haunted by her grandmother’s expectations and America’s indifference. Jackie is smart, messy, hilarious, hurting, and always performing. The show follows her journey across three timelines—2000, 2014, and 2024—as she chases attention, avoids accountability, and eventually finds purpose in searching for others who’ve been lost.
