Award-winning composer Dave Malloy calls his genre-obliterating Ghost Quartet "a song cycle about love, death, and whiskey," which is basically our entire artistic ethos distilled into a single sentence. For the show's 10th anniversary, Malloy reunites with co-creators Brent Arnold, Brittain Ashford, and Gelsey Bell (whose opera morning//mourning graced the Catacombs last September). For three nights, as the sun begins to set across Green-Wood, performers and audience members will be nestled together amid historic gravestones with sweeping views of the New York City skyline as a backdrop. Malloy's acclaimed, deeply-moving work tells an interwoven tale spanning seven centuries, exploring the nature of narrative, and how the stories we tell continue to haunt us across generations.
