Das Rheingold

Witness history-in-the-making—and one of music’s all-time most stunning creations—in Carnegie Hall’s first-ever complete Ring cycle, comprising four opera-in-concert performances. Wagner’s legendary epic begins with Das Rheingold (The Rhinegold), an orchestral wonder that introduces many of the cycle’s magnificent performers and mythological dramas—from the creation of the ill-fated ring of gold to its dramatic seizure by Wotan and its terrible curse. Gianandrea Noseda leads an extraordinary cast of Wagnerian singers, each specially selected for these historic performances, and the Orchestra of the Zurich Opera House, a world-renowned institution from the Ring’s birthplace and modern epicenter.
