A Vatican guesthouse meeting room. A long table, four chairs, a window overlooking a walled courtyard garden that hasn’t seen rain in weeks. Over thirty-six hours, four people - a Filipino Cardinal, a British-Ghanaian climate lawyer, a Lakota spiritual leader, and a young Vatican aide - discover that the interfaith climate dialogue they were convened to conduct is not the conversation they actually need to have. What follows is a reckoning: with what each tradition has enabled, what each person has privately failed to do, and whether language adequate to the crisis they are gathered around actually exists.
