Atalanta: The Long Shot is a boundary-breaking new queer musical that resurrects the long-forgotten mythology of history’s original Amazon and unsung heroine of Ancient Greece. Raised by a bear in the Arcadian forest after being abandoned as an infant because of her sex, Atalanta (“equal in weight”) is the perfect combination of wild femininity and animal instinct. On her eighteenth birthday and prompted by the patronage of her lover, the goddess Artemis, she returns to Grecian society on a quest to discover the life that should have been hers.
