Annie 2: Miss Hannigan's Revenge
Dec 22, 1989 - Jan 20, 1990 (Op. Jan 4)
Annie 2: Miss Hannigan's Revenge, the first attempt at a sequel to Annie, reunited the original musical's creative team of book writer Thomas Meehan, lyricist Martin Charnin, and composer Charles Strouse. It premiered at Washington DC's Kennedy Center in December 1989, but disastrous reviews led to the cancellation of its planned March 1990 Broadway transfer. The show was subsequently reworked at the Goodspeed, where Miss Hannigan was eventually written out entirely.
